What is a diplomat?

A diplomat is an individual who represents a country abroad
An individual who can interact with others in a sensitive and effective manner
A diplomat can be anyone, not just government officials. For example:
Students
Citizens
Business professionals

What is an Ambassador?

An ambassador is a term used for a specific type of diplomat who is responsible for their country abroad,

Qualities of a diplomat:

- Self-aware
- Knowledge of current events
- Demonstrates cultural awareness
- Proficient in multiple languages
- Ability to build relationships
- Communicates well
- Ability to adapt to any situation
- Demonstrates leadership
- Displays empathy towards others

Fary Moini is an Iranian-born nurse and humanitarian who immigrated to the United States in 1983 and has since dedicated her life to international service and education. She is an active member of the La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club, where she serves as co-chair of community service and sits on the International Service Committee. She is also a board member of the House of Iran cultural organization in San Diego. Since 2002, Fary has volunteered in Pakistan and Afghanistan, helping build a school for over 1,000 students in Jalalabad and supporting university faculty with technology resources. Her outstanding service has earned her several honors, including the Lifetime Achievement Award - Hometown Hero by the Lifetime Channel, a Recognition Award from the Lieutenant Governor of California, recognition by the San Diego Press Club, and the title of Rotarian of the Year (2002–2003) for Rotary District 5340.
