Join fellow Carlsbaders as we visit the original Carlsbad to immerse ourselves in the storied Carlsbad water wellness programs that have restored emperors, presidents and aristocrats since the 1300’s. We meet in Prague and then head out to ancient Carlsbad to explore just why so many still get better!
Wellness & Treatment (Yes, we’re talking treatments, not cures)
California Carlsbaders have long visited Karlovy Vary (the Czech way of saying Carlsbad) including City officials and members of the Rotary clubs. This year we offer a deep dive into the actual wellness programs. Treatments are focused on gastrointestinal, metabolic and musculoskeletal issues. We have chosen those offered at Hotel Prezident: A winner of the Czech Hotel Awards. The multidisciplinary staff is headed by the same medical doctor who has been selected by national presidents and popular celebrities. Dr. Milada Sárová is a specialist in internal medicine, physiotherapy, rehabilitation and is an internationally recognized balneology expert. https://www.hotelprezident.cz/en/
• What makes Karlovy Vary stand out among treatment centers anywhere else is the core inclusion of the ancient mineral spring waters that are unique among world spas. Scheduled drinking and bathing of these Carlsbad waters are part of and central to the long celebrated wellness experience.
Healing is not sudden. The human body, if we allow it time, peace and rest, goes far in healing itself. Your 8 days of rest are supplemented by treatments tailored to your levels of functioning. The doctor prescribes your specific bathing and drinking schedule as well as a course of spa treatments and activities to enhance improvements. Festival
As part of the conclusion of your stay (May 1-3, 2026) we will involve our travelers in the annual Festive Opening of the Spa Season activities that Karlovy Vary presents the first weekend of May each year. There are parades, performances, displays and, for a limited number, exclusive events offered by Madam Mayor Andrea Pfeffer-Ferklova herself to honor visitors from the California version of her fair city. She and her husband visited our Carlsbad in 2024 and she is happy to welcome us.
Explore
As you wish (and as your designed wellness regimen allows time), side trips to nearby historical sites can be arranged. This would include the annual “Liberation Festival” in nearby Pilsen where they commemorate their liberation by American troops at the end of World War II. For those wishing to extend their stay, we have an agent in Prague who will arrange visits to beautiful and historical sites. Interested?
